Cancellation/Reschedule Policy

Annapolis Sailing School Cancellation/Reschedule Policies

As the operation of the School necessitates careful coordination of the number of students, boats, and instructors, we ask that you let us know immediately should you need to change your reservation for any reason. If possible, please notify us by both phone and email. Doing so ensures that your notification is received in a timely manner and that we have a record of it so that we can apply the cancellation policy accurately. We will send you an email confirmation of your cancellation. If you wish to reschedule, every effort will be made to reschedule your reservation on a space available basis.

Cancellation or Delay of Course by School

The School reserves the right to cancel or delay courses due to weather, boat, or staff issues. If a class is cancelled by us, arrangements will be made to make up the class upon availability or give sailing credits to be used by the student at a later date. Cancellations by the school can happen on short notice, up to and including day of depending on the conditions.

Course and Private Instruction Cancellation/Rescheduling by Student

The following are the periods of notice required in order to receive a refund for rescheduling** or cancelling a course:

  • 30+ Days from Original Course Date: 95% refund or 100% credit of amount paid to apply to a future course*
  • 14-29 Days from Original Course Date: 50% refund or 75% credit of amount paid to apply to a future course*
  • 7-13 Days from Original Date: 25% refund or 50% credit of amount paid to apply to a future course*
  • Less Than 7 Days from Original Date: 0% refund, 0% credit

*Prices for courses are subject to change from one year to the next. Credit given will be for a dollar amount and not for a specific course. That dollar amount may be applied to any course that we offer.

**Once shipped, textbook costs are deducted from any refund.

***Rescheduling is based on availability.

Rental and TrySail Cancellation/Rescheduling by Student

Changes made three or more calendar days before the originally scheduled start of the reservation can receive a 100% credit to reschedule or a 95% refund. Changes made within three calendar days of the originally scheduled start of the reservation receive no refund and will result in a $50 rescheduling fee per occurrence. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the start of the reservation will receive no refund or credit.

Gift Cards

Gift cards are non refundable and retain their cash value for 5 years from the date of purchase. Gift certificates (purchased for a specific class) may be used for that class for 1 year regardless of price changes. After one year the gift certificate retains the cash value until 5 years from the date of purchase.
