Ultimate Level

The KeelBoat Club Ultimate level members can take out our Saber 34 and Newport 30 for the day or up the three consecutive nights.  They can cruise anywhere between the boundaries of Rock Hall to the North or Oxford to South.  Just book your reservation, file a float plan with us and go.  The favorite cruise is to sail up Eastern Bay and anchor in the beautiful Wye River and spend Friday Night, wake Saturday morning and sail the short distance to St. Michael’s and tie up using the club’s membership to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.  Spend a leisurely Saturday exploring St. Michael’s – inside tip make sure to take a meal at Ava’s and ice cream at JoJo’s.  After spending the night at the museum get under way in the morning for the 25 mile sail back to the School.

The Saber 34 “Light Saber” is a cruiser racer built in Maine.  She utilizes a wing keel so she draws only 4.5ft but still sails fantastic upwind.  Equipped with B&G instrumentation, electronic charts, powerful rig, new main (2021) and genoa, she is a joy to cruise and sail.  She sleeps six easily with a private double berth forward, a pull out double in the salon, a pilot berth and stern double on the starboard side.

The Newport 30 “Honu” is another cruiser racer.  Designed to the IOR rule her fin keel draws 5 ft and goes up and down wind very well.  With intricate turtle woodworking below, a private V berth forward and B&G instruments she cruises the Bay wonderfully.
