Sunday Racing Recap – July 12

There was finally some wind in Annapolis on Sunday, July 12! šŸŒ¬ļøā›µ

We enjoyed four great races, followed by time ashore catching up with friends. The steady breeze made for some exciting racing and excellent opportunities to practice downwind sail trim.

Our focus continues to be on smooth, efficient mark roundings, and we saw some great examples throughout the evening. One key takeaway in the Rainbows is that the boat will point higher coming out of the leeward mark if you trim the mainsail first and then bring in the jib as you accelerate onto the upwind leg. Proper trim and timing through the rounding can make a noticeable difference in your speed and pointing ability.
