It was a wild and windy evening on the Bay. The stiff breeze demanded strong teamwork onto keep the boat sailing as flat as possible. A little heel is helpful–it generates lift–but once you get beyond about 15-20 degrees, drag increases and the boat slows down.
The fleet handled it well. There were no collisions, everyone maintained good situational awareness, and all landings were controlled.
When conditions are strong enough to push boats directly onto C Dock, the best approach is to go into irons near Horn Point Marina, drop and secure the mainsail, and continue under jib alone toward the dock. As you enter the Rainbow Channel, the jib can be furled to complete the approach cleanly.
There were only a few photos taken– but plenty of great sailing: https://photos.app.goo.gl/CKe8EYygvCSwPeAeA
