May 4th Sunday Night Race(s)

The force was with us tonight as the wind eased enough to shake out the reef and the rain held off. We had 8 boats on the line and got in 4, 20 minute-ish races. Thank you for to the Old salts out there for sharing your knowledge with our new Members!

Takeaways:

Pinching hurts! It hurts you and it hurts your boat. I watched Mistrel blow by 2 other boats because she was sailing fast and the other two were stalled because they were pinching.

Sail trim matters as much downwind as it does on every other point of sail. Some sails were let out so far they resembled a cruller.

Split the fleet. SNR is all about practice and trying new things so there is no need to follow the leader.
