This course is the next step for students who have already achieved the ASA 101 – Basic Keelboat Certification. This three-day course offered during the day provides a hands-on introduction to cruising and returns to the sailing school each afternoon. All of the skills and requirements for ASA 103 – Basic Coastal Cruising are covered in this comprehensive course.
Skills learned include knowledge of cruising sailboat terminology, basic boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather interpretation, safety, and seamanship.
The last day is spent working with you on the written and practical testing for your ASA certification.
