The Sailors didn’t have to Labor too hard to pull off some excellent starts!
There was good communication between the boats on a busy starting line, and the motor boat chop was a significant factor at the windward mark!
It is hard to focus on everything around you while you are also trying to time a good start. Perhaps approach it like practicing defensive driving on the highway–always know what lane is open if you need to make a quick change. I learned that trick from a defensive driving book I read when teaching my children to drive, and it seems to apply pretty well to a crowded starting line too!
Unfortunately the camera lens was dirty, so the pictures have an annoying piece of dust on them. Apparently, the photographer needs a pre-race checklist too!
