Annapolis Sailing School’s Keelboat Club was created to offer our graduates a cost efficient alternative to hone your sailing skills. For a fraction of the cost of buying or chartering a boat, you can enroll in the Keelboat Club and sail on our famous Rainbow 24’ sailing sloop all season long. With your Keelboat Club card, our boats are available to you – 7 days a week – all season long. Keelboat Club members also receive extended sailing hours not available to normal rentals. Simply call at least 72 hours in advance and your boat will await you at the dock.
Our Rainbow 24’s are long and lean and possess the fine, clean lines that cut through the water with authority.
The Rainbow cockpit is surrounded by a large coaming design to keep you dry when the spray flies. The strong fiberglass hull and deck make the boat virtually indestructible. A 1,100 lb. cast iron keel provides immense ballast when the wind picks up and serves to keep the boat stiff and dry.
The Rainbow has an exceptionally large cockpit with comfortable seating and backrest, on the premise that sailing should not be a cramped, hunched-up affair. The high degree of comfort and safety has earned the Rainbow the reputation of being one of sailing’s most sea kindly craft.
• Unlimited use of our 24’ Rainbows
• Lowest cost: only $1,200 + tax per season with no hidden start-up, administrative or orientation fees
• Extended hours: 9:00 am to dusk
• Large fleet of 15 boats
• Up to 6 people per boat (only one needs to be a member)
• Use our boats just 5 times and your membership has paid for itself
Membership in our Keelboat Club gets you on the water quickly
and provides the path towards fun and learning on your schedule
The Keelboat Club was developed to offer our Graduates an opportunity to practice their new skills at a fraction of the cost of either owning a boat or renting on a regular basis.

Normal sailing area is bounded on the north by shipping marker G”91”, just south of the Bay Bridge and to the south by “1AH” just off Tolley Point Shoal. Portions of the Severn River offer a splendid view of the Naval Academy. If you wish to familiarize yourself with the area before you sail, obtain nautical chart #12271. Boundaries, as determined by the Marina Manager, are subject to weather conditions at the time of your sail.
Safety is our primary concern. Please call ahead to check conditions. The manager has the right to limit or cancel any sailing based on weather conditions or forecast.
You Are Not Alone
Unlike some clubs where you are on your own, Annapolis Sailing School staff and safety boats will be available at all times if you have any questions or problems.
